Road Closure - N Magnolia Avenue Water Main and Service Replacement Project

OCALA, Fla. (Jan. 22, 2019) – Due to construction for the City of Ocala’s N Magnolia Avenue Water Main and Service Replacement Project, Magnolia Avenue, from SW Broadway Street to NW First Street, will be closed beginning Monday, Feb. 18. This project is expected to be completed by Friday, May 3.

This project consists of the complete replacement of water mains and services on N Magnolia Avenue, from SW Broadway Street to NW Fifth Street.

Detour routes: Magnolia Avenue, SW Broadway Street to State Road 40 –

  • Eastbound traffic – Travelers on SR 40 going east and wanting to travel south on Magnolia Avenue will head south onto SE Osceola Avenue to E Fort King Street, west onto E Fort King Street to SW First Avenue, north onto SW First Avenue to SW Broadway Street, east onto SW Broadway Street, back to Magnolia Avenue.
  • Westbound traffic – Travelers on SR 40 going west and wanting to travel south on Magnolia Avenue will head south on SW First Avenue to SW Broadway Street, east on SW Broadway Street, back to Magnolia Avenue.

Detour routes: Magnolia Avenue, State Road 40 to NW First Street –

  • Southbound traffic (option 1) – Travelers going south on Magnolia Avenue will head west on NW Second Street to NW First Avenue, south on NW First Avenue to SW Broadway Street, east on SW Broadway Street, back to Magnolia Avenue.
  • Southbound traffic (option 2) – Travelers going south on Magnolia Avenue will head east on NE First Street to NE Osceola Avenue, west on SR 40 to SW First Avenue, south on SW First Avenue to SW Broadway Street, east on SW Broadway Street, back to Magnolia Avenue.

All necessary devices will be in-place to redirect traffic. Construction will take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. During construction times travelers may experience noise, dust, and heavy equipment within the project area.
