Fort King Haunted Trail Event is Saturday, Oct. 27
OCALA, Fla. (Oct. 10, 2018) – The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host the third annual Fort King Haunted Trail event Saturday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Fort King National Historic Landmark located at 3925 E Fort King St.
This is a free, family-friendly event. However, younger children are encouraged to attend earlier in the evening as the trail may appear scarier as it gets darker. Those wishing to trick-or-treat should come dressed in costume prepared for candy and other treats.
A special viewing of “The Addams Family” (1991) will take place inside the Fort from 8 to 10 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
Guests are encouraged to park at the Duke Energy power line field located between NE 43rd Avenue and NE 44th Avenue on the north side of E Fort King Street, approximately a quarter-mile east of the Fort. A shuttle will be running continuously throughout the event for pick-ups and drop-offs. The only parking that will be available at the Fort will be for handicapped or disabled guests only.
Volunteers ages 18 and up are needed for this event. For more information about volunteering, or to sign up, please call 352-368-5535.
