Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series Announces Full Lineup

OCALA, Fla. (May 13, 2019) – The Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA), in partnership with the City of Ocala, is excited to unveil the full lineup for the 2019 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series. The series is sponsored in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a national funder of creative placemaking that empowers communities to inject new life into underused public spaces. Through free, outdoor concerts, the Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series will present 10 free, family-friendly concerts to the public this summer.

The Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series will take place at Webb Field at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Complex located at 1510 NW Fourth St. Concerts will take place every Friday, May 31 through Aug. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open lawn setting. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and admission is free.

The 2019 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series will feature a diverse lineup of high-caliber talent spanning musical genres such as blues, jazz, funk, soul, hip hop, classical, Latin and R&B.

2019 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series Full Lineup: 

  • May 31 – Headliner: Sons of Mystro | Opening Act: BB Rudeoff
  • June 7 – Headliner: Dr. Nativo | Opening Act: Nino Castaneda
  • June 14 – Headliner: Remember Jones | Opening Act: Swing Theory
  • June 21 – Headliner: Canon | Opening Act: Deraj
  • June 28 – Headliner: Tonina | Opening Act: Miranda Madison
  • July 5 –  Headliner: The Foxies | Opening Act: GUTS
  • July 12 – Headliner: Mr. Sipp | Opening Act: Sheba, the Mississippi Queen
  • July 19 – Headliner: PJ Morton | Opening Act: Mwiza
  • July 26 – Headliner: Empire Strikes Brass | Opening Act: The Greg Snider Quartet
  • Aug. 2 – Headliner: Kaleta and the Super Yamba Band | Opening Act: Shine and the Shakers

This event will feature craft and nonprofit booths, food trucks, novelty food vendors, in addition to beer and wine, which will be available for purchase. The Summer Break Spot will provide free dinners for those ages 18 and under. Each concert will also spotlight a local nonprofit organization, who will conduct a special activity during the event’s intermission.

In December 2018, Ocala was named one of 18 small to mid-sized towns and cities across America to win a Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Award of $25,000 in matching funds to present a free concert series at Webb Field in 2019. MCA, in partnership with the City of Ocala, submitted the Levitt AMP proposal and is presenting the concert series.
